Chancellor’s Court

Tucked between 1960s buildings, this tranquil green courtyard is a perfect place to unwind on a warm day. Whether you’re taking a break with a book, catching up with friends, or simply enjoying the fresh air, there are plenty of places to sit and relax.

At its centre is Meet, Sit and Talk, a sculptural installation by Cheshire-based environmental artist Lorna Green. Commissioned in 1995 in collaboration with landscape architect Allan R. Ruff, the three stone circles and flowing garden path were designed to encourage interaction and reflection. The planting evolves with the seasons, adding to the courtyard’s year-round appeal.
